Course Summary:

The 2010 Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Act transposed the 3rd EU AML Directive. The 4th Directive was published in May 2015 which required the Member States to transpose by June 2018. While Ireland did not meet this deadline, this 2-hour briefing discusses the changes to responsibilities brought about the 4th Directive and gives practical guidance on how to meet the compliance challenges of new legislation.

This course examines the transposition of the 4th AML Directive and the significant changes it brought including:        

  • Impacts on Risk Assessment processes
  • Removal of Domestic PEP exclusion
  • Changes to Simplified Due Diligence requirements
  • Beneficial Ownership requirements
  • Removal of Countries of Equivalence Lists
  • Discussion of ‘5th Directive’
